We are aware of fraudulent emails currently being sent to members of the SMM community that impersonate SMM leadership and ask recipients to assist with a financial transaction.

The email address in question is: presidentrboard@gmail.com

These messages are fraudulent. SMM will never ask an individual to make a wire transfer, online bank payment, or other financial transaction on behalf of the Society solely by email.

If you receive a message asking you to make a payment or transfer funds on behalf of SMM, do not respond or provide any information. Please verify the email and request directly with the individual using a known email, telephone number or other established method of communication and report the suspicious message to SMM.

If you have already responded to one of these messages, do not be concerned, but please do not continue the conversation or provide any financial or personal information.
