At the 1998 World Marine Mammal Science Conference in Monaco, student members of the SMM convened as a group for the first time and declared their enthusiasm for continued efforts to promote student involvement in the SMM, as well as in the field of marine mammal science.
Since then, student participation in the SMM has grown substantially with the formation of SMM Student Chapters and the occurrence of the Student Affairs Workshop, which is held in conjunction with each Biennial Conference on the Biology of Marine Mammals.
The pages within this section are devoted to issues and resources of particular interest to the global SMM student community. We want to make this section as useful and interactive as possible, so feel free to contact us with your ideas!
